Riding on my horse, Ranger, getting bucked off numerous times while making up melodies as well as a 4-H Project (showing a prize cow, Twinkle), was the beginning of my adolescence on a farm in the State of Washington. Later, at WSU, a cow college, I studied opera-go figure! I’ve done summer stock in Wyoming for 2 years, a workshop, a workshop at USC in Calif., and on to New York City with Dinner Theatre in NJ, performances at Carnegie Recital Hall, Symphony Space, Alice Tully Hall and Lincoln Center. After 2 national tours of Candide and The Rothschilds a trip to Europe seemed like a great idea. I enjoyed the beer, pretzels & wienerschnitzel. Upon returning to the US, I was co-producer of a performing arts company. I played the lead in Buxom Joan, the first opera ever written in America (pre-revolutionary) with the After Dinner Opera Theater. Just to see if I could really get sea sick, I sang on a cruise ship-the Rotterdam. Around the Bermuda Triangle, I lost a wonderful dinner. Later on, I sang on a barge on the Hudson River off of Brooklyn. That went better. When I came to Dallas I put together performances for parties and special events. I played a sympathetic secretary, Mrs. Baker, in Richard Corey at Lyric Stage. In The Wedding Mob, I played the wedding singer at The Door in Deep Ellum.Currently, I'm trying to cook new recipes all the time. You must try my jalapeno chocolate chip pancakes (Dickey loves them), and my cauliflower, onion and sour cream and cherry surprise! I'm thrilled to be part of Beulaville Baptist Book Club. I still remember my very first Nutcracker. I was restless in the first act-recovering from poison ivy-but the 2nd act was lots of fun for a 12 yr old.
