Born and raised in a small East Texas town, I spent most of my time dreaming of the bright lights and the big city. The highlight of my high school days was Drama class and acting competitions. After several Best Actress awards and a successful audition for Show Choir, my career in the spotlight was cut short by reality and college. I successfully – though painfully - earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Baylor University, which I thank my mother for every day, and even though my successful career keeps me very busy, I still hear that calling to be on the stage! I haven’t done much stage work since high school, but I can say that being in the corporate world for many years before landing the perfect job I have now allowed me plenty opportunity to perfect my acting skills! So here I am, intelligent and successful career woman by day (those of you that know me can quit laughing now) and uber ditzy dancing queen by night! This is my tribute to you, Buffy West…you’re my inspiration! See you all at the show – I’ll be the one on stage (ahhhh…that sounds good)!
The first time I saw the Nutcracker, visions of sugar plum fairies danced in my head for months! My dance teacher, who was crowned Miss Texas shortly thereafter, played the main character and her grace and beauty has gone unmatched to this day. Strangely, or not, I never had any ambition to be in the traditional nutcracker, but when I saw the Mark-Brian Sonna’s version I knew I had found my perfect role!
